Grapes take center stage in these wall lights, with grape leaves, vines, and the fruit itself featured throughout the gilt-bronze body. Clusters of grapes hang from the scrolling arms and drip pans of this delicate pair, each topped by birds and leafy branches. Leaves and vines form the scrolling branches and the ends of the scrolls terminate in bunches of grapes. Another bunch of leaves and fruit comprises the bottom of the wall lights. These wall lights are attributed to Pierre-François Feuchère or Jean-Pierre Feuchère, two members of an artisan family known for working in precious metals. While 18th-century records for the Getty wall lights do not survive, records for other pairs do, showing Feuchère family members delivering pairs to noblemen like Baron Thierry de Ville d'Avray and Queen Marie-Antoinette.
