Antiquities
This small jewel-like vessel is globular in shape, with a ring foot, a cylindrical spout rising from the shoulder, and, at the top, a double ring-handle decorated with lotus flowers. Around the body is a pattern of dotted semicircles over a band of zigzags and crosses. The shape, known as a stirrup jar, is Mycenaean Greek in origin, but this is an Egyptian copy. The vessel would have contained perfumed oil.
