These three cornice blocks decorated the roof edge of a building erected during the reign of the emperor Augustus (27 BC–AD 14). Richly ornamented with a band of encircled palmettes, another with a bead and reel pattern, and a row of dentils, the cornice protected the facade below from the elements.
